Rainbow Mountain Hike
Today enjoy a hike to the Famous Rainbow Mountain.
Located in the Peruvian Andes in Cusco just 3 hours away from the historical center, Rainbow Mountain is becoming the main attraction to see after or before Machu Picchu. As you could guess, the mountain is famed for its natural, multi-colored beauty at a staggering 5,200m above sea level. This rainbow-like appearance is created by the sediment of minerals throughout the area giving the mountain the turquoise, lavendar, gold and other colors.
It was only recently discovered due to the snow melting revealing the hidden gem that’s still considered holy by many until this day. Since its discovery, Rainbow Mountain as slowly started gaining popularity and has even been listed in National Geographic’s “Top 100 Places To Visit Before You Die”.

Sacred Valley and Train to Aguas Callientes
Depart this morning for the Sacred Valley with a visit to Awnacancha and Cochahuasi along the way to learn about local culture. Explore the beautiful Peruvian Countryside with a tour to The Magical Sacred Valley. First, you will visit the town of Pisac, famous for its bustling market. Here you will have the opportunity to browse the beautiful handicrafts and Andean garments displayed for sale.
Next, you will visit the impressive ruins of Ollantaytambo. These magnificent ancient ruins serve as great vantage points to look out over the valley. Originally the royal estate of Emperor Pachacuti during the Inca Empire, this site later served as a stronghold for Manco Inca Yupanqui in the Inca's final rebellion against the Spanish.
You will take a train ride to Aguas Callientes which sits at the base of Machu Picchu. The path winds along the river and mountain face, offering passengers dramatic views of the Andes. The foliage dramatically changes as the train approaches the meeting point of the Andes and the Amazon rainforest, providing visitors with a real sense of Peru's diverse geography.

Early morning, head to the bus station in Aguas Calientes for a 20-minute ride up to the secluded citadel. Meet your expert English-speaking guide for a tour of the most important sites in Machu Picchu, including the Intihuatana (Sun Stone), the Sun Temple, and the Room of Three Windows. You will be able to appreciate the intricate stonework of this amazing site. The giant stones were hauled by hand to the top of the mountain centuries ago, and yet their foundations still remain.

Amazon River
This morning, you will go up the Amazon River by boat to the Heliconia Amazon River Lodge. Sit back and take in life on the river as you transfer to the lodge. You'll see little wooden boats along the way that locals use to get up and down the river.
Upon arrival to the lodge, get settled in and take a dip in the pool. This jungle paradise will be your home for the next two nights.
While at the Lodge, there are many activities to participate in that are included. Some of the activities include, jungle walks with expert guides that show you the many uses of jungle plants and wildlife, spotting pick dolphins on the Amazon River, fishing for piranhas, and visit a jungle village with opportunity to view and hold sloths, monkeys, and snakes!
