Start your Italy tour with a flight from SLC, LAS, or your gateway city to Rome, Italy (FCO).

Arrive in Rome, Italy, at Leonardo da Vinci International Airport (FCO). Clear immigration & customs and depart for the hotel by motor coach (approx. 30 minutes from the airport).

Rome – Colosseum & Roman Forum
Optional morning: Visit the Rome Temple (AM Endowment Session) – reservations for endowment sessions, sealings, and initiatory available. Non-temple visitors may enjoy a picture-taking visit followed by free time for shopping in Rome.
Afternoon: visit the iconic Colosseum and Roman Forum, where Roman legions once marched in triumph, offering a glimpse into Rome’s imperial past. Continue with a tour of Rome’s majestic fountains and squares: Piazza Barberini, the Triton Fountain, Via Veneto, Villa Borghese, and the legendary Trevi Fountain – toss a coin to ensure your return! See the famous Spanish Steps, a bustling hub of history and charm.

Rome – Vatican & Excursion to Tivoli

Pompeii & Sorrento
Optional: Sacrament meeting in the morning.

Florence Walking Tour
Embark on a comprehensive walking tour of Florence. Highlights include Piazza del Duomo with the Baptistery, the Grande Museo del Duomo, the awe-inspiring Cathedral and Dome, and the Bell Tower. Stroll to Piazza della Repubblica, see Strozzi Palace, browse the upscale Via Tornabuoni, and explore the artisan-rich Oltrarno district with Santo Spirito Church. Cinque Terre
A scenic day! Take a train ride along the Mediterranean coast to Cinque Terre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, exploring the five medieval villages – Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza, and Monterosso – perched along rocky cliffs with stunning sea views.
Afternoon: free time to hike, shop, or enjoy the colorful harbors and local seafood. Return to Florence for dinner.

Florence to Venice

Evening: experience a Venetian night out with a gondola ride along the Grand Canal.

Depart Venice for the USA, or Continue to the Switzerland Extension
For guests concluding their journey here: depart from your hotel by water taxi to Venice International Airport for your flight back to the USA.
For guests continuing on the optional Switzerland Extension (booked separately): depart from Venice for Lugano, Switzerland, with a stop in Verona, Italy. Verona is a medieval city on the Adige River, famous as the setting for Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet – a 14th-century residence with a balcony overlooking a courtyard is said to be “Juliet’s House.” The Verona Arena, a huge 1st-century Roman amphitheater, currently hosts concerts and opera. Continue to Lugano, in southern Switzerland’s Italian-speaking Ticino region, standing on the shore of glacial Lake Lugano and surrounded by mountains.

Lugano – Interlaken – Lucerne – Bern
Switzerland Extension continues.
Interlaken is a traditional resort town in the mountainous Bernese Oberland, built on a narrow stretch of valley between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. Depart for Lucerne, including a guided walking tour, then continue to a tour of the Switzerland Temple and the city of Bern.

Bern to Zermatt
Depart for Zermatt by train, connecting to your motor coach. Free time for lunch and shopping.
Zermatt, in southern Switzerland’s Valais canton, is a mountain resort renowned for skiing, climbing, and hiking, at an elevation of around 1,600 m, below the iconic pyramid-shaped Matterhorn peak. Its main street, Bahnhofstrasse, is lined with boutique shops, hotels, and restaurants.

Day 15

Zermatt – Matterhorn Viewing
Enjoy a train ride with a local guide to the top of the Matterhorn viewing stations for beautiful alpine vistas. Lunch on your own as you take in the view. The Matterhorn straddles the main watershed and border between Switzerland and Italy, with a summit 4,478 meters high, making it one of the highest summits in the Alps and Europe.

Zermatt to Zurich
Depart Zermatt by train, connecting to your motor coach for Zurich. Free time for lunch and shopping. Zurich, the largest city in Switzerland, sits at the northwestern tip of Lake Zurich and has been continuously settled for over 2,000 years, gaining prominence as a center of the Protestant Reformation under Huldrych Zwingli in 1519.
