Overview
This is an 8-night, 9-day "Fall North East American & LDS Church History Tour" scheduled for October 2-10, 2026. The tour is hosted by LDS Lecturer & CES Instructor John & Heather Jewkes.
The itinerary includes:
- Day 1 (Oct 2): Arrival in Boston, MA.
- Day 2 (Oct 3): Exploring Boston, including Lexington Commons, Minutemen National Park, Boston Commons, Freedom Trail, Quincy Market, USS Constitution, and Salem.
- Day 3 (Oct 4): Visiting North Bridge in Concord, then traveling to Sharon, VT, and Tunbridge, VT, before heading to West Lebanon, NH.
- Day 4 (Oct 5): A scenic drive through Vermont and Upstate New York to the Priesthood Restoration Site (Harmony, PA), with stops in Oneonta, NY, Colesville, NY (Afton), Joseph and Emma Marriage site (South Bainbridge), Stowell Home, and Joseph Knight Home.
- Day 5 (Oct 6): Visits to Peter Whitmer Farm, Hill Cumorah, Joseph Smith Sr. Family Historic Farm and Sacred Grove, and Book of Mormon Historic Publication Site (Grandin Building) in Palmyra, NY, with a drive by the Erie Canal, Martin Harris Home, & Alvin Smith's Grave.
- Day 6 (Oct 7): Driving through Mendon, NY, seeing the General Store and Phineas Young Home, visiting Historic Tomlinson Inn, and then traveling to Niagara Falls, NY for a "Maid of the Mist" cruise.
- Day 7 (Oct 8): Heading to Fairport Harbor and Kirtland, OH, to visit the Historic Kirtland Visitor's Center, Newell K Whitney Store, Ashery, Mill, and Historic Isaac Morley Farm.
- Day 8 (Oct 9): Stops at the Temple Quarry, John Johnson Farm, Mantua Christian Church, an Amish Lunch, and visits to the Kirtland Temple, Joseph & Emma Smith Restored Home, Kirtland Cemetery, Printing Office, Joseph Smith Home, and Old School House.
- Day 9 (Oct 10): Departure from Cleveland, OH (CLE) airport.
The tour includes 8 nights of accommodations, motor coach transportation, entrance fees, meals as indicated in the itinerary, and tour guide services. Airfare is not included. The price per person is $2195.00 for double occupancy. There are also options for triple and quad occupancy with different pricing for adults and children. A deposit of $1000.00 per person is due at the time of reservation, with the balance due by July 1, 2026.
LDS Tour Instructors
John Jewkes was a CES Religious Educator for 35 years. He has taught at many Universities including: Utah, Yale, UMass, and George Mason. John & Heather have directed Church History Tours for over 30 years.
John and Heather have been married for 38 years and are parents to 6 children.

- Double Occupancy: $2195.00 per person. Airfare is not included.
- Triple Occupancy (2 Adults + 1 Child): $2195.00 for adults and $1600 for the child. Airfare is not included.
- Quad Occupancy (2 Adults + 2 Children): $2195.00 for adults and $1600 per child. Airfare is not included.

12:40 PM - Stop in Oneonta, NY for Lunch
1:40 PM - Depart for Colesville, NY (Afton)
2:10 PM - Arrive Joseph and Emma Marriage site (Drive by - South Bainbridge)
2:15 PM - Arrive Stowell Home (Site where Joseph Smith Proposes- Emma)
2:20 PM - Visit the Joseph Knight Home
